Meditatio is a project which grew from the concerts given by Schola canto rum Reykjavicensis and Horour Askelsson on All Soul's Day. These choral works depict grief and bereavement through the lens of hope and comfort. Except for Jon Leif's Requiem, the works on this album were all composed within the last four decades. The choir's conductor, Horour Askelsson, as well as four other Icelandic composers, are featured on the release. Especially moving is Scottish composer James MacMillan's "A Child's Prayer," which was written to commemorate the victims of the 1996 Dunblane school massacre.
