    Difficulty Level:
  • 2007-05-05 00:00:00.0 an outstanding collection

What’s nice about this collection is that all the pieces are at the same level although the selection is varied and interesting. Good hand divisions are made for the runs in Mozart’s Fantasie in d minor and the editing is always clearly marked and is mostly pedaling suggestions...

. The 3 Chopin pieces include the Military Polonaise which is a good preparation for Grieg’s Wedding Day. The slow mvt. of the Pathetique and Chopin’s Nocturne in C# minor (post.) are excellent choices for developing sound and emotional maturity at this level and Schubert’s Impromptu Op. 90, no. 4 and Joplin’s Cascades provide a different technical and musical workout. An outstanding collection at a reasonable price.
