Many so-called "beginner" lesson books assume more knowledge of music or the instrument than is warranted. This one is for players starting at ground zero. Takes you through the scales, introduces you to all styles: Italian, Irish, bluegrass, classical, Rock & roll, and Afro Blues. It includes some excellent tunes...

, written in both standard musical notation and tablature. All logically presented. The enclosed CD is a godsend. I've got other instruction books, but this is the one I'm relying on.
