Little big band - Medium

Composed by Frederick "Dave" Snider. Little Big Band Charts. Score and parts. Published by Walrus Music Publishing (WA.60193).

Feature for Flugelhorn, Alto, Sax and Drums. This is an extremely fun and exciting Latin chart (half note=108). Originally Little Linda was written for the group Spyro Gyra in 1979 by their keyboardist Jeremy Wall. My version features the flugelhorn and alto sax playing the melody with solos including a drum solo at the beginning and an extended solo after the flugelhorn and alto solo. There is an optional electric bass and piano solo. I played this arrangement in Europe and the United States for almost 20 years and it is without a doubt a real crowd-pleaser wherever it is played---period!!! It has a catchy melody which is a well-crafted and very beautiful with a great set of chord changes. Little Linda can be used as a closer for the first half of a concert, an opener for the second half of a concert, or as a filler. For this chart to really work there must be soloists who are experienced or will commit to practicing and learning their parts. This is so important because this chart has no soli or tutti, so the soloists must carry the chart. This chart can be a very rewarding experience for any soloist who accepts the challenge. Trumpet highest note Eflat5. Instrumentation: 2 trumpets, 1 bone, A, T, B, P, B, G, and D. No doubles.
