This intriguing set, finished composed December 31, 1985 in London, is reminiscent of Ravel's Tombeau de Couperin in several ways. It has the same scintillating freshness, even in unexpected places: the sixth movement is a Toccata on "O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden"! This piece will hold your interest...

through lots of practice and analysis and listening; these "reflections" on six German chorales contain great variety and drama but have clean transparent lines and the words "fresh" and "refreshing" definitely apply.
