Las Manos de mi Madre (The hands of my mother)

Originally for choir, the work was first completen in 2011. Later in 2016 Juan Guerra González completed his arrangement for high voice and solo (presented here). Lyrics by Salvadoran Poet Alfredo Espino (1900 - 1928) 

The composer captured the magic of the poet and in a simple language tried to express profound ideas. This song is part from the cycle "Three songs by Alfredo Espino", the other two songs (also available on sheetmusicplus.com are "El Nido" (The Nest) and "Un rancho y un lucero" (A ranch and a bright star). 

A score containing the three songs for high voice solo is also available.
