An extraordinary piece of music - very well edited. All of the Stover editions of Barrios seem to be very good. The versions of the songs that John Williams plays on "From the Jungles of Paraguay" are very close or identical to the Stover editions.

  • July 03, 2008 La Catedral is too much fun for anyone.

I just purchased La Catedral a couple of weeks ago, I haven't started working on it but its a piece I've always wanted to play and own so now I do and I will. This piece is one of the most beautiful out there, it was originally a...

two movement piece, Barrios added the prelude shortly after making it a three movement piece. I really hope to play the piece soon I just have too many piece going at the moment, it would be hard to commit to this piece fully. One of the these days though, La Catedral will be a big part of my repertoire.

  • January 11, 2008 This is a Masterpiece

This is one of the most beautiful pieces written for guitar. The fingerings should be looked at carefully and then follow your instincts for improvement. It may be advisable to hear it being played before investing a lot of time in memorization. Very Excellent!!

Great piece. Check out Denis Azabagic for someone who plays it well.
