I heard a relative working on some of the songs in this book and knew I would love to try it. Harmony is excellent and I would highly recommend the book.

"O Christmas Tree" is my favorite. I play half of these tunes and ignore the other half. Lee Evans puts a wonderful "spin" on the classics. My book is lovingly dog-eared and spattered. I will keep it forever.

With possible exceptions of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Ding Dong Merrily on High", I'm not fond of the Lee Evans' arrangements. They are too unsophisticated in the harmonization and lack any development in the themes. Phillip Keveren's "Jingle Jazz" arrangements is a much better buy.

I have loved this book for over 20 years, and others who see it, want to have it, too. Some pieces are easier than others and like any jazz, the rhythms are sometimes difficult, but it is well worth the effort. The pieces sound great! It's also a great...

way to start piano students into a lifelong love of jazz. (That's how my piano teacher started me.)
