I find many boys 8-12 like these style pieces. Teaching is always being able to find pieces students like and will practice. I would not require a book like this for a girl who has rhythm issues and likes "romantic" styles, hoping the syncopations would teach her to count...

    /feel rhythm.

Love the rhythms in these pieces. Some can be challenging to get right. Good lessons in holding a beat while undergoing large rhythmic changes. Very enjoyable to play.

I am pleased with this series. My students like to play the musice, so they will practice. The selections offer good lessons in style. I find it especially useful for those students who have a "wooden style" of playing. It seems to free up their inhibitions.
