    Difficulty Level:
  • July 22, 2019 Nice sheet music with a few flaws

The sheet music is very well written, including nice phrasing and solos to the selection of songs.Playing along with the CD is sometimes hard. The tracks don't count up and sometimes you are off by half a measure. The demo-tracks are missing. Internet search helps a bit...

as all songs are classics, but have often very different interpretations. The adaption for trumpet-range is bad! It's no fun to play "Lill' darling" as low as the deep G, and getting the low Csharp in tune isn't easy. On the other hand is 'Hit the road, Jack' going up to C''' several times, which is to hard for the intermediate level. All songs are in C,F or G-major (or corresponding minor), which seems rather beginning/intermediate level. It's fun to play along, with a few caveats.

  • February 05, 2018 Very nice!

Our daughter is playing the trumpet now for about 6 years and has played mostly classical or filmmusic. So this book is a nice step up to a different kind of music then she is used to!It was a bit disappointing though that there was only a play along...

version of the songs on de CD and no Demo tracks. But hey, now she can check out the original recordings on the internet :)
