  • August 05, 2009 Awesome for a medium sized wind ensamble

This piece has some very difficult section, especially the percussion and flute sections. The percussion section plays different rhythms but they all lock in with the rest of the band throughout the duration of the song. The flutes have to play in very difficult low registers at the beginning and...

the end of the piece. It may also be challenging to the trombone section for the sixteenth notes are not easy to accomplish on a slide. So band directors, choose this piece wisely if you feel your band is skilled enough. But in the end, this piece sounds fantastic!

The variegated elements that that this piece has still amazes me today. Everytime I play it I find myself surprised by just how ingenious and calculated this piece is. The great thing about this piece is that it has so much to offer to many bands of different caliber. The...

instrumentation is great and no player will be disappointed, especially the clarinet and percussion sections. Every instrument offer a unique flair that I think this piece couldn't afford to miss. I reccomend this to any band and have found it to be a joy over the years I have played it as a horn player.
