A haunting and beautiful arrangement of one of the well-known movements from Handel's famous choral work, Dixit Dominus. Originally for soprano and alto soloists with orchestra, this cello arrangements gives the main melodic parts to the first and second cello parts. All parts have interest and are suitable for a group of equal-ability advanced players or mixed ability intermediate/advanced. 

All of Emma's arrangements find creative and artistic ways to re-present original songs in a way that suits the new instruments and ensemble whilst maintaining the integrity of the original piece. Her aim is to go far beyond a simple copying of the melody and harmony, but to create an arrangement that sounds as if the piece was always meant for these new instruments.

Emma Butterworth is a composer for film and TV and also a successful Suzuki cello teacher. She has an intimate knowledge of how to write for strings, and has written and arranged a vast number of pieces for cellos and strings especially. All pieces have been played and performed.
