In the Bleak Midwinter (Trombone and Piano Duet)

By Gustav Holst

Trombone, Piano - Advanced Intermediate
Composed by Gustav Holst (1874-1934). Arranged by John A. Dempsey. Christian, Sacred, World, Celtic, Christmas. Individual Part, Score, Solo Part. 8 pages. Published by John A. Dempsey (S0.168779).

Item Number: S0.168779

A wintry landscape, a miracle, a wondrous season: all these are evoked in this traditional English Christmas carol that's also popular among Celtic music fans.  I've arranged the snowy, atmospheric music as a jubilant duet for trombone and piano.  Key: F major.  6 pages of music (that includes a pullout trombone page).

It's an acceptable, straight forward arrangement of Holst's song. The range is one octave (concert d in the staff to d above the staff). Because of this, I would rate the difficulty level as true "Intermediate" for both the the trombone and piano parts, not Intermediate/advanced" as...

in the listing description. However, an advanced musician will be able to play it with texture and feeling.
