"I Have Confidence," which takes place in the movie as Maria travels from the Abbey to the von Trapp home, was added as an altogether new idea not previously present in the stage plot. Notably, "I Have Confidence" took the melody of its introduction from the introduction to the title song, unused in the film. This new song featured music and lyrics by Richard Rodgers as Oscar Hammerstein II had passed away in 1960, making "Edelweiss" the last lyric he was ever to write. This arrangement is true to the movie arrangement.
