Notes are distinct and the musical text is presented with good fingering on decent but not great paper. This review is for the piano book version. I was hoping for more detail on the trills such as those developed for Liszt by his student Julia Rive King under Liszt's...

    direction.

Being a teenager, I am far from perfect in my ability to play this piece perfectly. When I first started this piece, I practiced piano only because my parents wanted me to. This piece has taught me discipline and has advanced me far more than I ever thought possible. You...

will not find a better piece. I honestly believe Liszt and his 2nd Hungarian Rhapsody is the reason we have piano music and love it so much. This piece is not for the light at heart. This piece takes time, patience, and understanding.

Such a beautiful piece of music. It's so simple and yet it couldn't be more complex.

A few years ago, I was given a version of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 and I enjoyed learning it, but when I would listen to recordings, I noticed that the version I had was only a modified version of the original. So, I ordered this piece again from...

Sheet Music Plus and I could not have been more pleased. There are actually markings on the score that were made by Liszt himself such as what fingering to take for tricky passages. There is also a recording of this piece performed by Maksim Mrvica which I highly recommend someone listening to. I have held the score in hand while listening to it and I can say that it is identical. I could not be more pleased!!!

  • 2008-06-16 00:00:00.0 Fabulous!

Not the easiest piece of music, but well worth the effort to learn it - this was a nostalgic purchase recalling the famous Tom & Jerry cartoon ("Cat Concerto") in which Tom is the concert pianist with Jerry asleep inside the piano....very funny! It's a great piece, so persevere and...

    you'll have fun!
