Popular ballad by Twila Paris This exquisite ballad by Twila Paris has been set by arranger Lloyd Larson in a new 2-part mixed setting with a new 3-5 octave handbell accompaniment (compatible with all voicings). With both Lenten and communion themes, this best-selling arrangement is a useful reflection for a variety of occasions. The original, lush orchestration by Mark Kellner is also available. This includes a Conductor's Score and parts for: Flute, Oboe, 2 Horns, Percussion, Timpani, Harp, Violin 1 & 2, Viola, Cello, Bass, and Rhythm (Guitar & Electric Bass).

New for 2012, Lloyd offers a dramatic new vocal solo (medium voice) setting of this popular song. This piece is also included in Lloyd's extensive collection of vocal solos, The Essential Collection for the Church Soloist (#8508).

Beautiful arrangement of a beautiful song. Well worth the time and money for smaller choirs.

Exquisite. Beautifully arranged. However, the suggested tempo is too fast for the piano accompaniment--making it sound rushed against the sustained melody and poignant text. A tempo around 100 M.M. would work for a less busy orchestral accompaniment, however.

This SAB number was chosen for the Lenten season, but is also appropriate for Communion or any service. We always enjoy the songs of Twila Paris and the arrangements of Lloyd Larson. This piece has both lovely tune and touching, thoughtful lyrics. Most of our choir members lack formal musical...

training, but the song is not hard to learn and we identify with it. It's a keeper, something we'll be glad to sing again and again.

  • March 17, 2009 Great Arrangement!

Lloyd Larson's SAB setting of Twila Paris' "How Beautiful" is a great arrangement. The voice parts will not require a great deal of rehearsal, and the rhythms found in the arrangement have been simplified just enough to make them work with a choir but not so much so as...

to lose the flavor of the original. The piano accompaniment is well-written and playable by an intermediate level pianist.

  • April 04, 2008 Wedding solo

I wanted this song as a solo at my wedding, and was searching for sheet music. The only other version I could find anywhere was way too simple. My sister will play it on the piano at my wedding, accompanying the soloist and she is capable of playing advanced music...

. I was pleased to find this version, which is at least intermediate. My only problem with this version is that it is missing a verse and thus will have to be adapted for my wedding.
