I did not purchase the Level 1 DVD because I have an instructor for a short time to give me the real basics. And this has been a great companion to the instruction that I have been receiving. It starts out with the E Blues Scale and builds upon it...

, and then introduces other material as well. I think if I had just this DVD, the Level 1 would be a good idea to fill you in on some basics. The DVD is overall very well done. It is easy to understand what they are doing and with the added video of both hands, it is easy to pick up on what is going on. Most of the information that is given to you is to help your improvisation skills. It's not so much about learning a specific set of songs. You do learn a few while working through the DVD though. This is worth the money, and I have not gotten into any of the additional content on the web site, etc.
