I have not yet attempted Hot-Sonate, but a friend of mine who's in my saxophone studio played this at a recital and I loved it! It's a great alternative to the standard college saxophone pieces like the Creston and Heiden sonatas. My friend said it was quite...

challenging, and that the piano part was so difficult that he had trouble finding a pianist willing to accompany him. So if you've got some time to kill and a great accompanist lined up, Hot-Sonate is your kind of solo!
