  • January 07, 2012 accessible duets of great variety

I owned the first volume of this book as a child and loved singing the songs. I was tickled to find not only the original volume still in print but a second volume and this duet book based on them. The "detailed description" and "look inside" do not give adequate...

information on these interesting collections. The table of contents is separated into: patriotic songs and marches, USA folk tunes, folk tunes from other lands, old favorites, dances, sacred songs, themes from standard literature, (and "novelty songs" in the two other volumes). I like these for the historical popular culture they contain and as a handy resource for standards needed occasionally. The solo books are late elementary to early intermediate level, very accessible to the casual player. The duets are probably more at the intermediate level.
