This is an energetic original composition combined with a traditional hymn. We used it this past Easter, and it worked well as a combined "Call to Worship" by the choir and "Opening Hymn" for the congregation. The brass parts demand quick tonguing which presents a bit of a challenge, depending...

on your players. Although I prefer to use slightly different words (i.e. "Jesus Christ is ris'n today..." instead of "Christ the Lord is ris'n today..."), I'm sure that we will use this piece again in the future.

There are some unexpected twists in this song, particularly when switching from 4/4 to 6/8. Overall, I think it is a great song that we will enjoy singing this coming Easter.
