2016 Holiday Contest Entry One of Israel's most popular andbeloved melodies. This was written in 1917 in Jerusalem by Avraham ZviIdelssohn, considered to be the father of Israeli music. Idelssohn's researchinto the music cultures of the different Jewish communities of Jerusalem laidthe foundation for the growth of a unique melding of east and west that is theIsraeli musical style.
