On this album organist Harry Wilkinson plays a program of solo organ literature from the 19th and early 20th-centuries upon the Ernest M. Skinner pipe organ at Girard College Chapel, Philadelphia. Harry Wilkinson was Professor Emeritus, West Chester University of Pennsylvania, in the theory and organ departments. He chaired the theory/composition departments for nearly ten years. He held the Ph.D. in theory from Eastman School of Music and was a Fellow of the American Guild of Organists. He chaired the AGO National Examination Committee from 1973-1980, and for years was organist-choirmaster at the Church of Saint Martin in the Fields. He passed away at the age of 92 in 2015.
