This is good fun to sing - great rhythm and good for a choir that's sometimes short of men. It's a bit long, but the story and the key changes keep it rolling

  • January 29, 2005 I've learned this song

This song was introduced to my treble choir for our annual contest in the spring by my director Mike Bultman. This song uses a variety of different skills, including being able to use a full, solo sounding head voice. The 3 solos in the piece are challenging, but very coveted...

on our choir. Also included in this piece are scoops and slides, the gradual building up from a very soft voice to a shout section, and interesting jazz rhythms and notes. Overall, this piece is one that works students to their full ability and is fun to work on. The composer also has a good skill for writing a piano part. It gives the song a unique sound that really just gives it that extra something. Right when you hear that introduction, you start tapping your foot and get pulled into the music. I personally like this for its sound, style, and unique way of showing talent. This is in my opinion the best song we've been given so far this year. - Stephanie Moore, Freshman at Lincoln Way Central High School
