The epic GHOST VARIATIONS of 1991 was the next work Tsontakis completed after BAGATELLE, and one can sense the world of the earlier work developing into a monumental landmark work of cataclysmic breadth. The “variations” of the title are a fluid metamorphosis, while the “ghost” suggests a spiritual world of memory and dreams, with occasional references to Mozart and Beethoven among the ghosts.
