This is a wonderful and lively piece. The version available, James M. Fulton's arrangement ( copyright 1903 )was however, arranged for marching bands of that era. Antiquated instrumentation and no score. I believe that this piece should be up- dated to include a version with modern instrumentation for mature Concert...

Band ( Grade 4 or 5 ), with a full score. This piece has historical significance in New York State as it ( in 1851 ) was adopted as the official regimental marching tune of the 2nd Regiment of Irish Volunteers of N.Y. City. This regiment was then officially accepted as part of the N.Y. State Militia and designated as the 69th regiment. During the Civil War this unit distinguished itself and became known as the " Fighting 69th ". Our band, i.e. the Lk. George (N. Y.)Community Band, would like to be able to perform this great march in a modern and mature Concert Band arrangement.
