Sheet music of this movies series is very nice. Score and parts are well organized for ensemble playing and complete too.

  • April 10, 2013 Great Value as Orchestral Score

This is a very simple song but without a strong , mellow tremulo the sutrained notes will seem bare of texture. Suggest copying in a score-to-midi software and playing in a quality midi orchestral player , leaving out the solo . This can all be purchased for under $200. The orchestral...

synthesis is amazingly good so you can rehearse with the result and use it to play in small performnce settings. The song appeals to audiences who have little affection for classics.

    Difficulty Level:
  • April 08, 2013 Great Arrangement for the money

I ordered this with hopes of maybe doing it in the Fall of 2013. The quality of the arrangement is terrific, plenty of parts for the instruments without duplicating. One reviewer felt this expensive, but in my experience of having bought instrumental parts for Back Cantatas and the like, it...

is well within the range of reasonable. No reason to have an "errata" sheet, this arrangement is well crafted. I rated the difficulty as Intermediate because it IMO requires good musicality. While the "notes" as deceptively easy, without an advanced sense of nuance, it will not carry well. The oboe soloist has to be probably advanced to bring this piece to life. Having been a fan of the movie Mission for years, this arrangement evokes scenes from that movie instantly. Overall, well worth it.

  • March 25, 2012 good choose for young players first oboe solo

I as an oboist love this piece. It is not hard but demands good dynamic control and intonation. and can be played with a little rhythmic freedom. A joy to play . arranger Robert Longfield has 2 versions this one in D and one for band in Bb the band version...

is a little easier this would be a good choose for young players first oboe solo peace.

  • April 24, 2009 Mission Accomplished

I've not personally seen the movie, and didn't know the piece. Several members of our amateur orchestra had though. I'm not an expert at judging music, but like many pieces which look simple, musicality plays a big role. We had a flute soloist. The audience liked it...

, which I suppose makes it a success ! The audience was of general composition - probably largely ages 35+.
