Ernst Pepping (1901–1981) is regarded as one of the most important contemporary Protestant church musicians and composers. Sacred choral works as well as some compositions for voice and piano are the central focus of his compositional output. Frank Michael Beyer selected five songs from Pepping‘s Paul-Gerhardt-Liederbuch (BA 2250) and arranged them for voice and organ.
