This series is one of the best I’ve ever found. It introduces the theory in a logical way, with each level building and reviewing off the previous. I have a young student in the Prep book and his Grandmother, who took piano herself, says he’s already so advanced...

in theory that she can’t help him with it! She never got any Theory when she took lessons, at least not like this. She learned only note values and which notes went where. She didn’t learn how music is put together. My young students love being able to answer all the questions in their school music classes, my older students love being able to get University credit while in high school. Even if they don’t intend on being music majors, they can get credit in humanities and arts by taking music theory classes. They don’t even have to sit through the course, they just challenge the course, all while in high school. I had one student who started piano at age 5, take tests in University theory while a high school Freshman.

I have found this theory series to be very good and thorough. It includes basic music knowledge as wel as theory itself. I have looked for such a series for a long time.
