JS Bach has written numerous amazing Fugues.

This piece was originally written for Solo Violin. It is amazing how a Fugue can be squeezed into a violin, without compromising on the complex Fugue form and musicality.

However, for beginners, it may be difficult to hear the different parts for the piece. Also, without more advanced technical training, it is difficult to play the piece.

In this arrangement for 3 violins, the Solo piece is split into 3 voices. This will enable younger violinists to play this piece in a group. Violinists can take turns to play the different parts to appreciate the beauty in each voice, which come together to form a beautiful piece together.

While doing the arrangement, reference was made with JS Bach's own transcription of this piece for Organ (BWV 539). With the expanded musical palette of the Organ transcription, much insight can be gained into Bach's ideas on this Fugue. Portions of the Organ version was incorporated to this arrangement, especially where there is only 1 melody line. In addition, the theme is also repeated over some single melody lines.
