Brass Quintet - Advanced Intermediate - Digital Download

SKU: S0.283877

Composed by Jim Parker. Arranged by Daniel S. Augustine. 20th Century,Neo-Classical. Set of Parts. 12 pages. Published by Daniel S. Augustine (S0.283877).

Jim Parker, who has won the British Academy Award for best original Television Music four times, has written scores for over one hundred programs and is one of Britain's most successful and versatile composers. “Francis Urquhart’s March” is the main theme in the opening and closing credits for the 1990 BBC production House of Cards. This march is a short (about 1’30”) dignified fanfare-like piece with a high first-trumpet part (high ‘C’ in two places), but it has a contrasting and slightly impish middle section. The march could serve as an introduction to an event, or as an encore to a concert. The level of playing needed is advanced intermediate, but playable by a good highschool brass quintet. The original orchestral version (in D major) may be heard at  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhLN0L5JdD4 (this arrangement is in Bb major). Mr Parker kindly granted me permission to arrange this march for publication.
