The seven-movement suite for brass band, Hymn of the Highlands was commissioned by David King and the Yorkshire Building Society Band and provides a series of themed movements which can act as a half-concert featuring a band’s soloists.Flowerdale is one of the solo movements. This solo is also available with piano accompaniment, edition no. AMP 285.

Hymn of the Highlands is een zevendelige suite voor brassband en werd geschreven in opdracht van David King en de Yorkshire Building Society Band. Het werk biedt een reeks van gethematiseerde delen die kunnen fungeren als een miniconcert met afzonderlijke solisten. Flowerdale is één van de losse delen. Dit solostuk is ook verkrijgbaar met pianobegeleiding, uitgave nr. AMP 285.

Die siebensätzige Suite für Blasorchester Hymn of the Highlands (Hymne der Highlands“) wurde von David King und der Yorkshire Building Society Band in Auftrag gegeben. Mit einer Reihe thematischer Sätze bietet sie sich für eine Konzerthälfte an, in der ein Solist des Orchesters hervorgehoben werden soll. Flowerdale ist einer dieser Solosätze, der auch mit Klavierbegleitung erhältlich ist. (Editions-Nr. AMP 285).
