In this suite - inspired by a trip to Switzerland - each song is a "postcard," capturing lush, romantic moments in full. The songs are dedicated to Jerusalem born Hila Plitmann - poet of the beautiful text, and the composer',s wife. The suite is scored for SATB chorus with either string quartet accompaniment or piano and violin.

    This is the most accessible Whitacre work and, surprisingly, my favorite. It shows his ability to work within boundaries and constraints, without 12-voice chords, etc.

    This is by far the most gorgeous choral work that I have sung before. I performed it as a member of the 31st annual South Dakota High School Honor Choir earlier this month (August 2004). The soaring melodies and haunting chords send chills throughout my whole being everytime I hear...
