Some of my favorite pieces to play or sing in the 25 years I've been a professional musician. These are Ravel's incredibly imaginative and colorful interpretations of five traditional Greek folk songs. Both the original French and the Greek translations are wonderful. It's hard to say whether...

the pianist or the singer will have more fun...Pianist has diverse palette of ambient figures, occasionally requiring more than a little choreography you might not have tried before! Singer gets to boast lots of modal melismatic passages. Moments of both profound serenity and beauty as well as boisterous bachanalia. Great choice for musicians on equal par who want a truly satisfying collaborative experience and/or a very happy audience.
