Composed by Frank N Wildhorn, Frank Wildhorn, and Jack Murphy. Arranged by Arranged by D. Kim Clayton. A Cappella. Octavo. 8 pages. HarmonyPlus Publications #5300237. Published by HarmonyPlus Publications (A0.909706).

From the musical, "The Civil War", comes the moving song, "Five Boys". This song is based on "The Bixby Letter", a brief, consoling message sent by President Abraham Lincoln in November 1864 to Lydia Parker Bixby. She was thought to have lost 5 sons in the Union Army during the American Civil War. This A Cappella arrangement brings the audience to the verge of tears it is so moving. The SSAA arrangement comes from the viewpoint of the mother, Lydia Parker Bixby, and how she reviews her five boys lives and expresses her love, pain and sorrow. Also available is The HarmonyPlus Trax CD, a teaching CD. The CD includes: Full version (all parts), Soprano I, Soprano II, Alto I, Alto II. Perfect for all members of the choir/small group to learn her individual parts. Duration: 2:35
