Composed by Kurt Bestor. 20th Century,Contemporary,New Age. Score. 7 pages. Black Diamond Performance #5360029. Published by Black Diamond Performance (A0.880729).

This song is inspired by Henry David Thoreau's essays about the idyllic Walden Pond where he lived. Emmy-award-winning composer Kurt Bestor envisioned the solitude of morning where the still glassy lake is only occasionally rippled by fish jumping after an unsuspecting mosquito. The title is derived from Thoreau's words as he described being so lost in his thoughts as he looked into sky's reflection in the lake that he felt as if he was "fishing the sky."

The song was originally orchestrated for small orchestra, woodwinds, piano, & acoustic guitar. Bestor himself has transcribed the song for piano to capture the essence of his original version. (The song is found on the album "Sketches.")
