My girlfriend wanted to learn guitar, but not notes and mary had a little lamb. i play classical and she can't sing but still wanted to learn. This book got her in the game quickly and made her feel like she was accomplishing something. The practice lessons sound beautiful...

and she plays them and then i improvise leads to them which creates and experience we both enjoy. The author has a great sense of humor and a way to bring guitar out in a new and very improved way.

This is the latest in Bruce Emery's highly recommended series of theory/guitar books. Each of his books concentrates on a particular aspect of either learning guitar or coming to grips with music theory and how to apply it to the guitar. the books are beautifully succint,understandable,arranged...

logically and, not least, humourous. This latest book,Fingerstayle Guitar From Scratch, follows this admirable trend. So many 'beginner'books are either too advanced or already assume a fairly detailed musical knowledge-this is not the case with this book. Can't I give it more than 5 stars?!
