He writes with an almost-Gershwin feel that I absolutely love. Tha songs are range-y and hard. The piano parts are mostly really challenging as well. I was disappointed that so many of the songs are duets or even trios. I would've appreciated knowing that before purchasing. But...

the songs are really quite beautiful. And since most of the lyrics are poetry by the likes of Langston Hughes, the pieces can be very moving.
