This is no doubt one of John Adams' most extraordinary works - seductive, compelling, beautiful and displaying the full range of his extraordinary musical imagination. The score, by Boosey and Hawkes, is beautifully presented, with performing notes (for the synthesizer) and a list of recent and/or less-known Adams works...

on the back cover. The score is not an easy read even for the experienced or semi-professional musician but the rewards are great: discovering how Adams created those amazing sonic timbres and tracing the course of the complex rhythms - the " fearful symmetries" - to the very end is sheer delight. Ordering and delivery by Sheetmusicplus was efficient and amazingly prompt. For Adams fans capable of navigating a complex but rich and exhilarating score: highly recommended!
