I have to admit I find Brahms a difficult composer of sometimes overly complicated harmonies and melodies. I thought his Fantasies would be his more melodic, approachable stuff, but it isn’t. This is tough music for me to assimilate, but others may find it charming, or invigorating. Barenreiter does...

its usual excellent job in printing, etc. but Brahms is not my favorite. You decide!
