  • March 30, 2009 Mozart at his best!!!

One of Mozart's last compositions, K608 was written for a "mechanical clock". But it is usually played on an organ. It has also been arranged for 2 pianos, and woodwinds, that's how good it is. Full of passion, Mozart shows of his mastery of Bach's fugal writing...

in this. The "Andante" is heartbreakingly beautiful. The "Finale" will take your breath away with its relentless fury. There are audacious modulations. Truly, Mozart is the bridge between the older Haydnesque classical writing and the future Romantic writing.
