By Aaron Copland. Arranged by Thomas R. Vozzella. 5 pages. Published by Thomas R. Vozzella (H0.606593-SC003678267).In 1942, Copland was commissioned by the music director of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra to write a fanfare. The U.S. had entered World War II, and Vice President Henry A. Wallace desired to rally Americans against the age of imperialism. Copland was inspired by Wallace's speech given in the spring of 1942 at the Free World Association in New York City. This organ arrangement of Copland's classic Fanfare for the Common Man, will be a stunning addition to any organ concert. The organ part is written in such a way as to illicit the sounds of Copland's original for brass and percussion. Suggested registrations will make the sonorities of the original come alive through the sound of the organ's reeds. .
