We remember the "King of Ragtime" by publishing "The Entertainer" & "Maple Leaf Rag" in this 2 in 1 easy piano edition. Joplin's most popular rag, "The Entertainer" reached high acclaim in 1973 as the most recognizable theme from the movie classic, "The Sting". This Academy Award-Winning film was solely responsible for the resurgence of ragtime, but more specifically brought renewed interest in Scott Joplin's works. "The Maple Leaf Rag", unlike so many others, became quite popular during Joplin's lifetime, so much so that it was the first sheet of music to sell over one million copies. These two rags have become an important part of every beginning student's learning process. It is, in most cases, their first experience with ragtime piano. It is important that we use this opportunity to educate our young by introducing them to Scott Joplin, "The King of Ragtime". This edition does just that, by including an expanded biography of Joplin with a chronological timeline of his life. Santorella Publications is pleased to combine these two rags, arranged by Tony Santorella and edited by Jonathon Robbins, in this special, "2 in 1 Easy Piano", ragtime sheet. This newly engraved edition is not only clean, sharp, distinct and accurate, but simply a lot of fun. A favorite among piano teachers across the country and used by students from coast to coast.

nice arrangement, certainly not for the beginner, but manageable for the diligent intermediate, with great result (it doesn't sound like a beginner's caricature of the real thing). i don't know why the sellers don't show an example from the printed music, maybe a few stanzas for...

those looking. i've more than once purchased sheet music that was too easy and unconvincing, or too difficult for the player's level. the wasted time of ordering, accompanied by the expense and waiting does not contribute well to the joy of life. no sir, ma'am.
