El Toro Rojo Grande

By Len Orcino

Grade 2.5
Composed by Len Orcino. Young Concert Band. Command Series. Audio recording available separately (item CL.WFR333). March. Score and set of parts. Composed 2004. Duration 4 minutes, 17 seconds. Published by C.L. Barnhouse (CL.011-3345-00).

Item Number: CL.011-3345-00

A lively Spanish flavored paso doble that is both entertaining and educational. Written in two distinctive sections, the first is a stately theme that evokes the sounds of the bullring. The second section is in the style of a lively Spanish dance in 6/8 time. Also provides a chance to show off your star trumpeter as it includes a couple of very effective trumpet solos (only goes to F in the staff). Very impressive composition for this grade level. Muy excelente!

Ole' This song is downright cool. With included vocals, it is even awesomer. It actually gives all sections a chance to play the same at the same skill. The spanish movement of the song makes it so original. Ole'
