This beloved, folk-like song from the musical "The Sound of Music" is arranged as an instrumental trio (for VIOLIN and CELLO with PIANO accompaniment). Gently flowing throughout, this familiar tune is an excellent selection for recitals or venues requesting inspirational background music such as weddings.

The verse begins with the VIOLIN and CELLO playing solo for one phrase each, then the two parts alternate playing melody throughout the remainder of the song while the other part adds an elegant harmony. The audio sample begins at measure 21 when the two parts start playing together as a duet.

Ranges for the string instruments are as follows: VIOLIN ~ B3 to A5; CELLO ~ B2 to D4. For both the VIOLIN and CELLO, all notes are playable in the first position. With the limited range and technical difficulty, this arrangement is an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players.
