By Willard A. Palmer

These short etudes explore a variety of keyboard patterns and articulations. The studies, limited to key signatures of three sharps or flats or less, develop legato phrasing, dynamic graduations and voicing. Approximately the same level of difficulty as Köhler's 12 Easy Studies and Czerny's Practical Method for Beginners, Op. 599 and The Young Pianist, Op. 823.

Great practice!

As a previous review said, these are sophisticated in their simplicity. I am retired, and decided to pick up where my 6th grade piano lessons left off. These musical exercises create a nimble brain and set of fingers.

Duvernoy -- 25 Studies, Op.176

These are very nice studies, good for sight-reading, dexterity, flexiablity, and over-all very good for 'musicality & pedigogy' -- nice because this one book is shorter than Czerny's Op.599 and 823, it is of more like grade level: Early Intermediate - Intermediate, so be careful, as this is NOT just Elementary, it will require lot's of work & time with practice 'hand separate', then later 'hands together, okay! But this is GREAT, the notes are big easy to read, and good spacing like all Alfred Pub. books.... Good Luck:)
