Jazz Studio Orchestra (Vocal; 2 Alto Saxophones; 2 Tenor Saxophones; Baritone Saxophone; 4 Trumpets; 3 Trombones; Bass Trombone; 3 Violins; Viola; 3 Celli; Guitar; Piano; Bass; Drums) - Medium Difficult

SKU: JL.JLP-9607S

Recorded by Ella Fitzgerald. Edited by Rob DuBoff and Jeffrey Sultanof. Arranged by Nelson Riddle. Vocal Key: Ab; Ranges: Trumpet 1: D6; Trombone 1: C5. Swing. Full score. Published by Jazz Lines Publications (JL.JLP-9607S).

This is one of the classic Nelson Riddle arrangements recorded by Ella Fitzgerald for the 1961 Verve album 'Ella Swings Brightly with Nelson.' This arrangement was modified in the studio to begin with Ella singing along with the rhythm section for a full chorus. This publication includes that change but also the original intro that Riddle wrote so that you have the option of performing the chart as-written or as-performed. The vocal key is Ab throughout and there are no saxophone doubles. The string parts are optional as they are not a main part of the arrangement; an optional alternate synthesizer part is included that may be used in place of the strings.
