If any organist were looking for a decent transcription of this particular piece, then this is the item you should immediately purchase. The music is very clearly printed and the product is of high quality overall. A few things in particular that deserves mentioning, since the description given above isn...

't totally thorough, is that there is a reference to a recording of this very transcription by Andreas Meisner (Altenberg Cathedral, Germany). Even better, in the back of the book there is a complete disposition of the organ and a complete layout of ALL the registration changes in the recording. I possess this item as well as the recording mentioned and I recommend it to any organist who enjoys playing transcriptions.

  • January 31, 2011 Absolutely marvellous! A MUST for organists!!

I came upon this arrangement in Germany. This is exactly what I have been looking for, and even almost attempted to arrange myself, for a long time. The difficulty is certainly above grade 4 as mentioned in the product description; it requires very good organ technique, especially in the pedal...

part later in the piece. Something definitely worth mentioning is that it contains a reference to a (brilliant) recording of this particular arrangement performed by Andreas Meisner (I have this CD as well). Even better, it contains the complete disposition of the organ in the recording, including ALL the registration changes. With no doubt worth buying!
