Der kleine Hund ('The Little Dog') is a tragi-comic waltz from Act I of Julian Wagstaff's chamber opera Breathe Freely, set during the Second World War.

This volume contains two versions of the song. The first is for soprano voice with an optional tenor voice joining towards the end of the song. The second version is for mezzo-soprano or alto voice, with optional tenor and/or baritone voices joining.

This number appears on the Linn Records CD recording and is the perfect addition to any varied vocal programme.
