  • December 09, 2002 Great Piece of Music!!!

I'm a 1st chair trumpet player in the Niles North Highschool Symphonic Band(Good band program at this scool, under the direction of Elton Eisele) and this peice is great! It has a great balance of power and elegance. There are many solos including(off the top of my...

head), one french horn solo and four trumpet solos. The piece is a little difficult for a freshman band, too easy for a 1st band, but perfect for the second band. It's a Grade 4 piece. There are a lot of triplet rhythms, and of dotted 8th; 16ths. Other than being a little chaotic at some points(160BPM) beautiful peice, not many like it. It's not played by many groups either. 5 Stars!
