The popular dance is an integral part of the Swiss folklore, in spite of the fact that the names of the principal dances come from abroad: Hammer, Schottisch, Landier, Waltz, Mazurka. Often, they were the Swiss mercenaries whom reported about the dancing melodies from abroad. On our premises, these melodies, by various metamorphoses, received their typical regional character. These melodies date from the years after 1900 and collected by the folklorist Alfred Leonz Gassmann (1876 - 1962). 6 page score with parts.
